Costa Rica is a country near and dear to my heart. I first fell in love with this magical place while on an International Co-op Program in my last year of high school. I spent part of my time living with one of the most amazing families I have ever known. We quickly formed a connection and they will forever more be my second family. Not only did they show me everything Costa Rica has to offer, but they taught me so much about life, generosity, and living each day to its fullest. I remember one day commenting on how much wildlife my host brother had spotted while we were hiking in some exotic place. He told me that all I had to do was keep my eyes open and take the time to look. This is how Ticos live their lives. They take the time. This advice has stayed with me and had a huge impact on the way I live my life.
As a result, it has also affected the way I take pictures. When you take the time, all sorts of things appear that would otherwise go unnoticed. I have been back to Costa Rica three times but never quite seem to capture just how important this place is to me in my pictures. I guess I’ll have to keep trying!
